This is a very special commission I've done.

The client wanted to offer this painting as a gift to his brother-in-law (and also close friend), who had to suffer the tremendously tragic misfortune of losing his dog (who has been his first and only pet so far ) and soon after also his mother, after having endured a long fight against cancer.

For this extremely sad reason, the client commissioned me to paint a scene in which we can see both of them about to enter the Gates of Valhalla, with a peaceful expression, to give that feeling that everything will be okay.
